What is an eCigarette?

Electronic cigarettes (also known as eCigarettes or personal vaporizers) are devices that heat up eLiquid, enough to turn the liquid into vapor for inhalation. Unlike traditional cigarettes which burn tobacco and create smoke, eCigarettes do not burn anything. There is no smoke, only a fog-like mist or vapor.

Are eCigarettes safe?

eCigarettes are not without risk. While Liquid Barn works hard to make our juices as safe as possible, consumers are cautioned to read and adhere to the warnings on our website and the warning labels on our bottles. Please educate yourself before you vape, and vape at your own risk.

Are eCigarettes regulated by the FDA?

As of May 2016, the FDA began regulating eCigarettes and eLiquids as tobacco products under the Federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act. Implementation of FDA regulations is currently underway. Click here for important FDA dates.

What are ENDS?

ENDS stands for Electronic Nicotine Delivery Systems, of which electronic cigarettes are the most common prototype. ENDS are devices that do not burn or use tobacco leaves but instead vaporize a solution the user then inhales. As of August 8th 2016, the FDA subjects ENDS to its authorities. Under this final rule, ENDS, as well as its components and parts, such as eLiquids, will be considered a Tobacco Product.

What is a Vape Device?

A vape device, or vape pen, is another term for eCigarette, and is the instrument that turns eLiquid into vapor. It consists of a rechargeable battery and a tank that screw together. It’s powered on and off by the user via a button on the pen. The tank is filled with eLiquid, which is then heated by the atomizer inside the tank.

What is eLiquid?

eLiquid is the liquid which is vaporized in eCigarettes. It is a solution made up of Propylene Glycol (PG) and/or Vegetable Glycerin (VG), flavoring, and optional nicotine. When the solution is heated, it vaporizes and translates the flavor and other ingredients into the vaper's mouth. The sensation is similar to smoking, but without the same molecules. Learn more about the characteristics of PG and VG.

Will making my own eLiquid cost me more or less?

Making your own juice is definitely more affordable than purchasing so called “premium” juice. For under $20 at Liquid Barn, you can make over 500ml of eLiquid. Compare that to the average cost of $20 for 15ml-30ml of "premium" juice.

What do I need to DIY?

All you need is a bottle of our BASE and a flavor of your choice. We also sell the individual components of eLiquid for those who want to go deeper and mix their own eLiquid. It's a little more complicated, but allows for more control over the characteristics of your eLiquid and its nicotine content. For more information about making your own eLiquid, check out our DIY Kits section.

What does PG/VG stand for?

PG stands for Propylene Glycol, while VG stands for Vegetable Glycerin. Both are components found in finished eLiquid mixes. The term PG/VG often refers to the ratio of PG to VG in a finished mix. 50/50 for instance indicates eLiquid with 50% PG and 50% VG. The trend recently is to have higher percentages of VG versus PG. Our premixed eLiquid is an 80/20 blend (Because higher numbers typically are referred to first, in this case 80/20 refers to 80% VG and 20% PG).

How much nicotine is in eLiquid?

Liquid Barn provides premixed eLiquid at 5 different levels of nicotine: 0% (0mg/ml), 0.3% (3mg/ml), 0.6% (6mg/ml), 1.2% (12mg/ml), and 2.4% (24mg/ml) SALT. The nicotine levels should be stated on any bottle of eLiquid you purchase. When ordering online, you will choose your preferred level of nicotine. Learn more about nicotine strengths.

Why are nicotine levels represented as percentages instead of milligrams?

Liquid Barn is committed to ensuring vapers and adult smokers make informed decisions regarding the level of nicotine they choose to use. By providing a percentage, such as 1.2%, we are representing the concentration of nicotine contained in the liquid as 1.2% of the overall weight of liquid within your bottle of BASE or Nicotine Solution. This number directly relates to the mg/ml strength you can expect to enjoy (12mg/ml).

What is the difference between eLiquid and a nicotine solution?

eLiquids available on our site are premixed and ready to vape. You can get your eLiquid with or with out nicotine. Our BASE is available in the traditional strengths of 0.3% (3mg/ml), 0.6% (6mg/ml), 1.2% (12mg/ml) or 2.4% (24mg/ml) SALT. Nicotine Solutions are concentrated nicotine mixtures, not meant for direct vaping. Nicotine solutions are intended for DIYers making their own eLiquid with nicotine.

How should I store my nicotine?

For best retainment, you should store your nicotine products away from light, heat and oxygen. Read more on how to store your nicotine.

How much flavoring should I add?

Although taste is subjective, we do have a suggested starting percentage for each of our flavors. You can find the suggested amount on your bottle or visit our Suggested Flavor Percentages Chart for the full list.

Will adding flavor dilute the amount of nicotine in my eLiquid?

Although adding anything to your eLiquid will dilute its contents, the amount of flavor typically used will not effect your eLiquid in a significant way. To see how much your eLiquid will be diluted, check out our eLiquid Dilution Chart.
