Musim Mas Vegetable Glycerin Sustainability Commitments
Critics of palm oil production are concerned with issues such as GreenHouse Gas (GHG) emissions, biodiversity loss and social conflict, among others.
We believe that oil palm cultivation can be sustainable in a manner that addresses stakeholders' needs. The sustainable business growth model can be a competitive advantage for palm oil companies. We are taking active steps to go beyond the RSPO sustainability standards that will have positive impacts on our industry.
We were the first from Indonesia to join the Roundtable on Sustainable Palm Oil (RSPO) in 2004, when the concept of a multi-stakeholder platform to resolve issues was new to the industry. The company was also the first company to be RSPO-certified in January 2009. We were also the first major group to be 100% certified for all its plantations and mills in 2012. We are also the first palm oil major to join the Palm Oil Innovation Group (POIG) in 2015.
